Where to Start?

Starting to think about a project can be overwhelming.  One of the first steps is to evaluate your current situation.  Think about how you actually use your current space, about how much space do certain activities require, and any foreseeable changes that may take place in the future.  After this evaluation, here are a few questions you can ask yourself:
  • What are you trying to accomplish?
  • What is your budget for the project?
  • What do you like/dislike about your current space?
  • Have you seen other similar projects that you liked?  What qualities did they have that you were drawn to?  What did you dislike about them?
For residential projects, we have developed an Information Style Sheet which asks basic questions about how you and your family use your current home, and what you are looking for in your new project.
